Somethings the things do not work the way we expect and sometimes the software does something we do not expect. Here is an overview how to proceed in such situations to see some light at the end of the tunnel.
Best practices
Keep a copy of your desktop file
When you know that you have a working configuration save it. Not as the default.dsk that opens when your DAS Trader pro starts, but as an extra file.
Keep a copy of your favourite charts
If you use different indicators or zoom or background it is a good practice to save the chart settings into a file. Each chart type to its own config
Do an occasional backup within das
There is an option in the menu that can save you your settings to your desktop
The Restore option takes the last backup from your desktop in case you need it.
Do an occasional backup of the whole folder
It is good to have a copy of the whole thing and if you do not backup your PC regularly (which you should) then do at least a backup of your DAS Trader Pro folder which is usually located in C:\DAS Trader Pro_x64
