2024 DAS Traders hotkeys summary

An overview of the achievements, on what is (or is not) possible.

I am getting a lot of questions if this or that is possible, so I decided to write this summary. Many new readers just try to skip all the posts I wrote over the years and come for a quick win solution, so this can help them find the solution more easily. I am not trading options so all my focus in my posts is trading stocks, so the list is limited to stocks only.

What I covered in my posts

Conditional order actions

meaning if-then scenarios. Basically, we can automate anything that we can click ourselves in terms of order submissions.

• Dynamic share calculations for static risk.

• Automatic range orders attached after entry.

• Click to set stop.

• Orders with stops without clicking the chart.

• Set stop to break-even.

• Extended hours stop loss orders.

• Extended hours future entries (triggered orders).

• Custom trailing stops.

Alerts automations

• Simple price alert - click to set the alert

• Alert as a monitor of an event on the chart

• Alert as extended hours trading stop

• HOD or LOD break alert

Code our own functionalities

• Loop through the watch list and execute actions on each item.

• Finding candles with specific attributes.

• Finding candle patterns.

• Calculate our own indicators.

• Call external programs.

  This allows us to manipulate data coming from DAS Trader Pro and use it as parameters for external programs.

• Export/import variables into files

  This allows us to save the current state of the variables or even let them be manipulated in other programs then feed it back to DAS Trader Pro

• Custom risk controls

  we can create blockers for unwanted behavior like over trading, trading in certain time of the day or missing technical conditions for our entries. We can lock the montage or even shut down our PC or call our friend if we are going hulk.

• Nested loops to compare candles against each other

• Semaphores (indicators) for (the good) entries

• Show/hide indicators temporarily.

• Simple & Complex calculations.

What we CAN NOT do (yet)

…but we want to (hopefully someone from DAS reads this)

• Reading the account unrealized in real time

  should be easy to fix

• Read complex indicator values

  If an indicator has more numbered attributes, we cannot read them. We can read simple value indicators like moving averages or VWAP, PSAR or ATR

• Reading the current open positions

  Neither symbols nor sizes can be read.

• Proper existing orders manipulation (exists in very limited way only)

• Coloring trend lines (we can do horizontal lines only)

• Create and work with arrays

• Draw custom indicators

  other than horizontal lines or trend lines

• Scanning the whole market

  A multi conditional scanner of the whole market would be great. Being able to read the result window with a script would be even better.

• Read times and sales or level2 data

• Read the top list and other windows showing lists of symbols

The things are improving fast as DAS releases new versions. Even with a small new function, we can get a lot of new functionalities, as I have hopefully proven over the time several times. I do not know the DAS roadmap, but they are pretty responsive to the users requirements and proposals, so keep writing them for asking more.

I am looking forward to testing the new features and finding good use cases for them, which I can’t wait to share with you. It became my passion to try to resolve your use cases, so do not be shy to ask me for a hint or two.
